Godot Learning (godotlearning.com) is a free, educational website that helps developers learn Godot Engine. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we handle data.

The short version: We don't collect personal information. We don't have accounts, logins, or databases. We use Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics and localStorage to save your preferences on your device.

Data We Collect

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site. This collects:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • General geographic region (country/city level, not precise location)
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • Referral source (how you found us)
  • Interaction events (button clicks, scroll depth)

Local Storage

We use your browser's localStorage to save:

  • Theme preference (dark/light mode)
  • Learning progress (which guides you've completed)
  • Onboarding state (whether you've seen the welcome flow)
  • Code sandbox content (your saved code snippets)

This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to any server. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • Names, email addresses, or contact information
  • Payment or financial information
  • Precise geolocation data
  • Social media profiles
  • Any personally identifiable information (PII)

Godot Learning is a fully client-side application. There is no backend server, no database, and no user account system.

Cookies

The only cookies on this site are set by Google Analytics for anonymous usage tracking. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party marketing tools.

Third-Party Services

  • Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage statistics
  • Google Fonts — web font delivery (DM Sans, DM Serif Display, JetBrains Mono)
  • Netlify — website hosting and content delivery

Each service has its own privacy policy governing data they process.

Children's Privacy

Godot Learning does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since we don't collect personal information from any users, this applies by default.
